Intel 8x930Ax USB Controller Reference Design Kit
AMI's Reference Design Kit for the Intel 8x930Ax single-chip USB peripheral controller features USB-WARE*. This is a fully validated and tested USB firmware suite for developers who wish to quickly and reliably implement USB technology in peripheral products.

USB-WARE is compliant with the USB 1.0 core specification. The Reference Design Kit includes detailed firmware code, USB device drivers and hardware reference designs.

According to AMI, the USB-WARE has been fully tested with AMIBIOS and provides USB support at the operating system level. The firmware also provides legacy support for operating systems that are not USB-aware, by means of a USB-aware BIOS. USB-WARE is compatible with Windows* 9x/NT through WDM/USB drivers.

Firmware Support for the Intel 8x930Hx Hub Controller
AMI USB-WARE also supports the Intel 8x930Hx USB hub controller, providing a thoroughly tested development platform for USB hub peripherals that support the easy connection of multiple USB devices.

The firmware maintains all descriptors required by the USB Hub Specification to determine device functionality and fully supports "smart hub" capabilities. Features include driver notification of device connection and disconnection, power budgeting, power switching and over-current protection for USB devices.
